We’re here to make it easier for homeowners to do energy efficiency renovations.
Our mission is simple – guide and support City of St. John’s homeowners through the process of making your home more energy efficient, comfortable, and cost-effective.
We understand that home energy efficiency renovations can be overwhelming. Renovations are stressful even when you know exactly what you want – let alone when you are not sure whether you should invest in insulation first or heat pumps first.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer—upgrades can vary depending on your home’s layout and your budget. That’s why we offer a personalized service to help guide you through the process of figuring out what to do. One of our Home Energy Navigators will walk you through the what, the how, and can even sometimes help with the who. Once you understand your options – you’ll be in a good position to make sound and responsible choices for your family. When we help you act, we’re also helping the program reach its goals: saving homeowners money, lowering residential electricity use, reducing household carbon emissions, and improving the comfort and value of homes in the St. John’s area.

The Shift Program is delivered in partnership with econext and the City of St. John’s.
This program is carried out with assistance from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund, an endowment created by the Government of Canada.
Our project team has also partnered with the Windfall Ecology Centre who provides a similar energy concierge program for the Regional Municipality of Durham in Ontario.
